Well, it's been a while since I have properly blogged, and to be honest I am not sure when I will really get into it again.
Christmas was an unhappy and worrying time in our household due to my eldest daughter being admitted to hospital with double pneumonia. She stayed there with my husband until after New Year, and I was unable to go in as I had bronchitis. Once she came home it was the turn of my baby daughter to fall ill, this time with bronchiolitis, but with home based chest physio a trip to hospital was avoided, with the help of our wonderful paediatrician.
December was taken up with a legal wrangle with our former landlord about our damage deposit. It is a battle which we would easily win if we were to pursue, but one can only fight one battle at once and our daughters' period of bad health of course took priority, so we are abandoning the case. I'm not usually one for just giving up a fight, but I would like to think that karma will bite my former landlord's arse particularly hard one day.
So it has been a difficult and tiring start to 2013, and for the first time the incredible series of bad luck which has hit us over the past few years is catching up with us, and we are exhausted. So rather than the usual optimism for the new year, I am looking ahead wondering what is going to be thrown at us next, wary of making plans or resolutions.
It is a time to look back and be thankful for what we do have. Two amazing little girls, who will get better. Our own health, relatively speaking, and a stable relationship. It is in tough times that you realise who you can count on, and support has come from some unexpected sources.
I hope to have the energy and motivation to think up some rants soon. My level of rantishness has been reduced to swearing at the TV. But putting pen to paper and trying to write a coherent rant, or as coherent as any of my rants are, is far beyond my capability at the moment.
So excuse the blogging break. I'll be back soon.
Sorry to hear you've had a bad start to 2013. These things are always harder when you're away from home and your suppot networks.
ReplyDeleteAs they say - things can only get better - so here's hoping.... Fingers crossed!
